Ezr 5:16 Then this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and from that time until now it has been in building, and it is not yet finished.’

Yes the house of the Lord is being built on this earth. The work is not yet finished. It is going on. It’s being built in every generation. Today, in this generation, we are called to build it. That’s the common stand for all of us. The calling to build His temple.

From the time satan was cast out of Heaven, satan has been occupied with fulfilling his mission to be like God.

Through the ages, he has used sin and iniquitous trading to build his counterfeit kingdom, house, and throne in the earthly realm in order to draw men & women away from worshiping God.

Satan's driving ambition is that man would choose to live in his house and worship at his throne.

When God instituted the Old Covenant, He called Moses up the mountain. Moses went up the physical mountain of Mount Sinai, but he also ascended into the Lord's house. This is the place in the realm of Heaven. The mountain of the Lord's house is the place where God lives.

We serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." (Hebrews 8:5)

The tabernacle was a copy of the real one in Heaven. David wanted to build a temple in order to bring the glory of the Lord unto the earth from heaven and accomplished it through his Son.

But in the New Testament Jesus Christ came to live in our midst and built His house among us that is in our hearts.

Mat 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”

When He left this earth He gave a promise that He would be with us for ever and ever

Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

So wherever two or three people are gathered in His name He is there in their midst.

Mat_18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.”

This is the basis of Troop Church. In big buildings, gatherings are there but togetherness is missing.

Wherever togetherness and unity is there, in Jesus’ name we can build Troop Churches.

1Co 3:9-15 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building.

1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is. If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.

1Co 3:16-17 Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.

Let’s find God’s temple in each believer and start building him/her as a Church.

Praise the lord I am Mariamma Alex from Cochin Ernakulam. I was born in an orthodox family.We were 10 in number. I did nursing in Tiruvalla medical mission under CMI by a Christian missionary from the UK. The brother who prayed for me and I accepted Jesus as my saviour. But I didn't take baptism. After that, I went to Saudi Arabia where spirituality is very minimal but the Holy Spirit inspired me by learning the word of God and praying privately in the presence of the Holy Spirit. He gave me a vision in 2 Corinthian, for God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness. Our heart is to get the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. This bright light was over me and I was sitting up in the air not on the floor. Day by day I got a vision which was in Hebrew chapters 5,12,13 and 14. I saw that I was taking a bottle of milk 11-year-old girl. Again rev 4.4 was shown in heaven I went up and looked for Jesus with it other 24 elders equal to another vision 17x7_7x17. As in John and Mark chapter 16, I dreamt about getting baptized. Jesus showed up in the water then in Saudi, I called a pastor to give baptism soon. Psalm 139:4,6 all other words only showed me a vision. Even now the Holy Spirit is pouring me dreams and visions.26 Nurses came to faith in Alckobar Hospital. Churches are limited and restricted here. Our Lord was touching many. It is a miracle in our life. God is helping me to do my best through AOJ. I hope God will do miracles in the future days. Jesus is coming soon let us be prepared for it. Amen

Praise the Lord. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, after praying, we have decided to conduct the Prophecy School (level 1) starting from June 2023 up to December, on behalf of the Prophecy team of the Army of Jesus. WAR IN ISRAEL: A FULFILLMENT OF BIBLE PROPHECY?

I woke up Saturday morning, and I was shocked to read the headline: “Israel Is at War.”

It is almost 50 years to the day the last time Israel was officially at war in what is known as the Yom Kippur War back in 1973 when she was attacked by Egypt. Syria, and others. But this is a different kind of war.

Thousands of rockets rained on Israel from multiple directions, and Hamas gunmen invaded by land, sea and sky. Now, hundreds of people have been murdered and kidnapped, and they were using what we might describe as Isis-like methods: targeting young women and young children, launching massive indiscriminate rocket fire towards civilian population centers, as well as terrorist infiltration of cities and settlements close to the Gaza border.

They went literally home to home, door to door, looking for the young and for the elderly. They’ve taken hostages. Old women, little children, young women—they specifically targeted civilians in this attack. Some of the women they took as hostages were survivors of the Holocaust. To date, and this number tragically will only get larger, there are 1,300 dead and 2,000 wounded. This attack is simply without precedent, causing Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, to say, “We are at war.”

Israel’s Enemies

Who is Hamas? They’re a terrorist organization funded by Iran. That’s not a secret.

A spokesman for Iran, Gahzi Hamad, told the BBC that terrorist group had received funding for the attack, according to the Wall Street Journal.

And Iran has for a long time stated that their objective is to destroy Israel. They have also signaled that they are developing a nuclear weapon. In the past they have threatened to, in their own words, wipe Israel off the face of the Earth.

One leader of Iran said, “They ask, ‘Is it possible for us to witness a world without America and Zionism?’ But you had best know that this slogan and this goal are altogether attainable, and surely can be achieved. The regime that is occupying Jerusalem must be wiped off the map.”1

Interesting how it always comes back to Jerusalem. The Bible predicted, thousands of years ago, that the end time events would revolve around Jerusalem. Not San Francisco. Not Los Angeles. Not Moscow. Not Paris.

But Jerusalem, this tiny little city, in this tiny sliver of land, will play a key role in the events of the last days. It’s the focal point of end times events. It’s amazing when you think about it, because in Zechariah 12:3–4 God says, “I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves” (NLT).

Pay Careful Attention

Now, the irony of all this is that the United States of America through the Biden administration just gave six billion dollars to Iran. What a bad move it is to give any money to a nation that sponsors terrorism around the world.

But here’s where students of Bible prophecy should pay attention. The Bible tells us in the end times that Israel would be scattered and regathered. This has happened, and this really was the sign that set the prophetic clock ticking.

On the heels of the Holocaust, who would have ever thought that these Jewish people who lost six million lives to the Nazis would somehow regather in their homeland, but it happened, against all odds. And on May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation. I’m proud to say the United States was the first nation to acknowledge that.

But after Israel was regathered, the Lord said she would come under attack. Specifically in Ezekiel 37 and 38, the Bible speaks of the regathering of Israel, and then it speaks of a large force from her north attacking her. That force is identified as Magog. Who is Magog? Listen, no one can say with absolute certainty.

But many Bible students and prophecy teachers believe it’s modern-day Russia. I think you can make a very good case for that. If you get out a map of the Middle East and look to the north of Israel, you will find Russia. Why would Russia ever want to invade Israel? Well, there’s another thing the Bible says about Magog, if she is indeed Russia, and that one of her allies that will march with her is Persia.

Persia is the ancient name for modern Iran. So the Bible predicted hundreds of years ago that this large force from the north of Israel would attack her after she was regathered, and one of the allies that would attack Israel with Russia or Magog, whoever it is, would be Iran or Persia.

Not once in the past 2,500 years has Russia formed a military alliance with Persia, Iran, but they have recently developed a special connection. Russia has signed billion dollar deals to sell missiles to Iran, and the Iranians have helped the Russians, providing them with drones, weaponized drones to use in the Ukraine war.

Bible Prophecy Before Our Very Eyes

How do you even stop something like this? Let’s just say, for the sake of a point, that Israel decided to strike out at Iran, specifically, because they’re funding all of this.

What would that produce? Well, it could produce a conflict we read about in Ezekiel 38. The Bible says that Magog will come against her will; the Bible describes hooks in her jaws, pulling her forward almost as though Magog is coming in reluctantly along with her ally, Persia (or Iran).

Am I saying with absolute certainty this is the scenario that will play out? No. But if you get up in the morning and read this headline, “Russia Attacks Israel,” fasten your seatbelt because you’re seeing Bible prophecy fulfilled in your lifetime before your very eyes.

What should Christians be doing in the light of all this? Two things.

Jesus said, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28 NKJV). That’s what we need to be doing, looking for the soon return of Jesus Christ.

But we also need to pray. The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). We want to pray that they arrive at some kind of peace. We want to pray that this horrific terrorism stops and that they’re able to get their hostages back. And we want to pray that God places His hand of protection on the nation of Israel during this unprecedented war.

DAVID THE FATHER

Just as a replacement took place in Isaiah 22, we read another such incident in 1 Sam 13:14.

1Sa 13:14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought out a man after his own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.”

Act 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

The Lord saw in David a fatherly heart. Hence, He replaced Saul with David.

In 1 Samuel 30, we see how David rescues his people and emerged as a protector for them.

“He strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” When he came to know how the Amalekites had stolen everything that belonged to him and his people, though he raised his voice and wept until he had no more strength to weep, later got strength and counsel from God to recover everything. With marvellous vigor David went in pursuit and recovered all. He regained his credibility as the protector of his people.

The book of Samuel 2 gives a clear picture of David’s fatherly heart which makes him run into the risk of his own commanders turning against him.

2Sa 18:5 And the king ordered Joab and Abishai and Ittai, “Deal gently for my sake with the young man Absalom.” And all the people heard when the king gave orders to all the commanders about Absalom.

Here the king struggles between his role as a father and a king. Joab has to instruct him to do his duty as a king by warning him of further consequences

2Sa 19:7 Now therefore arise, go out and speak kindly to your servants, for I swear by the LORD, if you do not go, not a man will stay with you this night, and this will be worse for you than all the evil that has come upon you from your youth until now.”

Jesus Christ was known as the “Son of David”.

Mat 15:22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”

Mat 20:30, 21:9

Let’s pray that our political administrators and leaders become good fathers for our nation and for our people.

Video presentation from Abinaya Troop Church, a father who fell from tree, his spinal cord was injured, bed ridden for 3 years, on the day of Healing gift school, God lifted him up. Now with the wheel chair, he is able to do a small work to support his family of 4 young daughters. Hallelujah Praying for motor attached wheel chair, and support to start a small fruits shop.
Abinaya 4 years girl in the same family, affected by epilepsy and she lost her speech and the ability of walking. After Intercessory prayer, now she is taking food properly, regaining strength, responding. Speech therapy online classes are planned for her.
This family accepted Christ recently. And they grew in AOJ, enjoying all the gift schools and Troop Churches. Amen.

Everybody needs a teacher. A baby needs to learn how to sleep, walk, and eat solid foods. A child needs to learn how to speak and write.

In every season of life, we need teachers to help us grow in knowledge and wisdom. While there’s a lot we can learn from people, we need to learn to grow spiritually as well—and God has given us the tools necessary to grow in every season.

God’s Word was given to teach us about God. As we read the Scripture, we can see God’s character and how He interacts with His people over the span of history. We can learn about God’s laws and the ways in which He desires His people to live. We can also learn about ways in which we can love those around us.

We are also given the Holy Spirit who lives within us. Part of the Holy Spirit’s role in our lives is to instruct us and guide us into righteous living. Righteousness is living according to God’s way. The Spirit teaches us about God’s heart and desires for our life.

All these things help us grow spiritually. Just as a parent uses every method possible to help their child grow, so also God uses many ways to help us grow spiritually, because He loves us.

God doesn’t let angry with us when we mess up. He doesn’t grow tired of us when we make mistakes. He continues to teach us and counsel us because of His great love for us.

However, we can’t learn from God if we’re not spending time with Him. In order to grow spiritually, we must read and meditate on His Word daily. And we need to be talking to Him in prayer.

Take sometime today to spend time with God and study His Word. Talk with God about where you are in life, and what you want to learn from your relationship with Him.

Lord teach me how to pray and teach me how to teach the children to study the word of God powerfully and effectively. Glory to his name AMEN.

As an output of night warfare prayer, CHENNAI Tamil Nadu will close down 500 retail shops run by the Tamil Nada State Marketing Corporation Limited (Tasmac) by this year. Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise Senthil Balaji announced in the Assembly. In his reply to the discussion on the demands for grants for his departments, he said he was making this "historic" announcement as instructed by Chief Minister M.K Stalin. The 500 shops to be closed will account for roughly 10% of the 5,329 retail shops run by Tasmac. This will be the third time such a large number of Tasmac shops will be shut. Both the AIADMK and the DMK had promised the closure of Tasmac shops ahead of the 2016 and 2021 Assembly elections. Late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced the closure of 500 shops when she returned to power in 2016. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced the closure of another 500 shops when he became the Chief Minister in 2017.

DEATH TOLL FROM SEVERE FLOODS IN SOUTHERN EUROPE CONTINUES TO CLIMB

Police and rescue services find more bodies washed up from floods in Greece and Spain as large parts of southern Europe try to come to terms with the devastation.

The death toll from severe flooding in central Greece rose to 10 people on Friday, while another four remained missing, the country's civil protection minister said.

Rescue crews in helicopters and boats ferried hundreds of people from inundated villages to safety.

Flooding triggered by rainstorms also hit neighbouring Bulgaria and Turkey, killing a total of 22 people in all three countries since the rains began on Tuesday.

In Greece, the rainstorms turned streams into raging torrents that burst dams, washed away roads and bridges and hurled cars into the sea, and many of the flooded areas were left without power or drinking water.

Authorities have said some regions received twice the average annual rainfall for Athens in the space of just 12 hours.

Although the rainstorms had stopped by Friday, floodwater continued to rise after the Pineios River burst its banks near the city of Larissa, one of Greece's largest cities with a population of around 150,000, triggering evacuation orders for several areas.

“The situation is tragic,” Larissa resident Ioanna Gana told Greece’s Open television channel, adding that water levels in her flooded neighbourhood were rising “minute by minute.”

By late Friday, officials said that more than 2,500 people had been rescued, including 420 plucked from the flooded areas by helicopter from 14 villages.

Spain: Two more bodies found in stream

Spain's Guardia Civil has found two bodies in Aldea del Fresno, a village that was severely affected by the torrential rains on Sunday, and is now proceeding to identify them, according to the Government Delegation in Madrid.

The search operation were carried out by the Guardia Civil to locate a middle-aged man who was dragged along with his family by the Alberche river in Aldea de Fresno, as well as an 83-year-old man taken by the current in Villamanta.

A woman is still missing from Sunday night when she was driving her vehicle in the municipality of Valmojado, to the southwest of Madrid.

Bible about “Fatherhood”

Fatherhood should be shared and handed over to the next generation. Below is the principle the Sovereign Lord put forward for humanity.

Gen 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

As a child grows and attain maturity, the symbiotic connection has to be cut off so that they can become another family.

In the Bible we see fatherhood is associated with professions.

Gen 4:20-21 Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe.

Godly fathers go to a place of rest with God. All those who die join them.

Gen 15:15 As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.

Nations are proud of their “Father of the Nation”. For India, Mahatma Gandhi, For United States of America, George Washington etc.. With faith one can please God and a single man can become a Father of many Nations.

Gen 17:5 .., but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.

Even though Abraham is the Father of the nation Israel, the Lord has made Abraham the “Father” of many Nations.

The blessing of a Father has great impact on his children and generations.

Gen 27:28 -29 May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. This is true even today. The nation of Israel still has the fatness of the earth and it is one of the world’s fresh citrus producers and exporters. Israel’s agricultural technology is far advanced than many other countries. The blessing of a father to his son still rests upon Israel till day.

Glacial lake bursts in India leaving 100 missing and 19 dead

More than 100 people are missing in India’s northeast after heavy rain caused a glacial lake to burst, leading to flash floods which ripped through the Himalayan state of Sikkim Wednesday, killing at least 19 and washing away roads and bridges, according to the state government.

A “sudden cloudburst” over Lhonak Lake, in the northern part of the state, sent fast-moving torrents of water surging down the Teesta River in Sikkim’s Lachen valley, raising water levels 15-20 feet higher than normal, the Indian Army said in a statement. A cloudburst is a very sudden and destructive rainstorm.

Chungthang Dam, also known as the Teesta 3 dam and part of a major hydropower project in the state, was “washed away,” according to a statement issued by the National Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday night.

Drinking water supplies and sewage treatment plants have been “totally damaged” across affected districts, according to the state government.

Video from the north of the state shows a muddy deluge rapidly overflowing the river, and flooded houses caked in dirt and debris, while images show search teams using excavators to uncover army vehicles buried deep in the mud.

Rescue and restorations operations are underway with both state and national disaster personnel involved, the government said.

Known as the rooftop of the world, the ecologically-sensitive Himalayan region is prone to flash floods and landslides, and flooding is not unusual in Sikkim.

As search efforts continued Wednesday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) released dramatic images showing the volume of water which had been released from Lhonak Lake following the cloudburst.

Lhonak Lake is a large glacial bullet-shaped water body that sits at the foot of a melting glacier.

An analysis of the images shows more than 60% of the water held in the lake drained out after the extreme rainstorm triggered a glacial lake outburst. This phenomenon happens when a glacial lake rises too high or the surrounding land or ice gives way and the lake bursts, sending water and debris rushing down mountains.

One satellite image shows the lake holding about 167.4 hectares of water on September 28, while another dated October 4 shows the lake reduced by more than half – holding approximately 60.3 hectares of water in it.

“It is observed that lake is burst and about 105 hectares area has been drained out.which might have created a flash flood downstream (in the Teesta River),” ISRO said in text accompanying the images.

Scientists have long studied Lhonak Lake, identifying it as one of the fastest swelling glacial lakes in the region with a high risk for a potential glacial outburst, according to multiple studies.

In recent years, the state’s Disaster Management Authority led several expeditions to the site, concluding that a glacial lake outburst would “cause huge devastation downstream” and that “loss of life and property” were likely. Pipelines were installed at the lake to siphon off the water as a short-term solution.

And last May, the state government held a consultation workshop on such a risk, with the director of Sikkim’s Department of Science and Technology highlighting the “urgent need for an early warning system for these glacial lakes in Sikkim.”

Search efforts hampered by heavy rain

The Sikkim city of Pakyong was the worst affected with seven people killed in the floods and 59 people missing, the Sikkim government said.

Among those unaccounted for are dozens of members of the Indian Army. A “massive” search and rescue operation to find the missing soldiers has been launched but efforts were hampered by “incessant rains” and flooding that had cut off roads and washed-out bridges, the army said.

On Wednesday evening, one soldier was rescued and is in a stable condition but 22 others remain missing, according to the army.

In an update Friday, the army said that “certain military equipment including firearms and explosives were carried away by the Teesta River” and urged the public to be vigilant and “report any unfamiliar objects, crates, packages, firearms, or any suspicious items.”

The missing military equipment could “pose a potential risk of a dangerous explosion,” it said.

At least 11 bridges collapsed in the flooding, impeding rescue efforts and cutting off remote areas, the government said.

In the state capital and largest city Gangtok, three deaths were reported and 22 people missing, it added.

More than 2,000 people have been evacuated and relief camps have been set up across the state to help more than 22,000 people affected by the flash floods.

On Thursday, the state government said at least 3,000 tourists remain stranded in Sikkim’s Lachung and Lachen and that helicopters are being deployed to help evacuate them.

The Teesta-V Hydropower Station was reported to be “under shutdown presently and not generating electricity,” the All India Radio (AIR) News reported, citing the country’s Power Ministry.

“All the bridges downstream to Teesta-V Hydropower Station up to Tarkhola and Pamphok have been submerged which has severely affected commutation and communication in these areas,” it said.

A “detailed assessment” of damage to the hydropower projects would be made by the central government once the flood water recedes, AIR News reported.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall to continue across the country’s east and northeast, including Sikkim, for the next two days.

Sikkim’s chief minister Prem Singh Tamang said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that emergency services have been mobilized to the affected areas, and he has “visited Singtam to assess the damages and engage with the local community.” Singtam is a town affected by the flooding about 30 kilometers (18 miles) from Gangtok.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the situation an “unfortunate natural calamity” and offered “all possible support in addressing the challenge.”

“I pray for the safety and well-being of all those affected,” he wrote on X.

Glacial outbursts will affect millions

Himalayan glaciers feed into rivers that provide freshwater to two billion people and many communities depend on the glacial waters to irrigate their crops.

But a recent report warned the glaciers could lose up to 80% of their ice by 2100 as temperatures rise, heightening the likelihood of floods, landslides, avalanches and also drought.

As glaciers around the world melt at an alarming rate, about 15 million people who live near glacial lakes are at risk from catastrophic glacial lake outbursts, with more than half concentrated in just four countries – India, Pakistan, Peru and China – according to a study earlier this year.

These lake bursts have been compared to an “inland tsunami” and their impact akin to a sudden dam collapse, experts previously told CNN.

The ensuing floods happen with little to no warning and previous glacial lake outbursts have killed thousands of people and destroyed property and critical infrastructure.

A 2020 study of the Teesta River basin by scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, found a increase in rainfall and temperatures this century and that Sikkim’s many glacial lakes are expanding due to glacier and snow melt as temperatures rise.

The researchers warned that heavy rainfall events can cause the sudden expansion of lakes, risking glacial outburst floods, and it was “critical” that state disaster management departments are properly equipped to respond to such disasters and that policy makers implement climate change adaptation strategies.

In 2021, a Himalayan glacier collapsed in Uttarakhand, sending an avalanche of water, dust and rocks down a mountain gorge, and crashing though two hydroelectric projects, killing at least 38 people.

In India’s north, communities have warned for decades about unregulated commercial development, deforestation and back-to-back dam building in the fragile region, increasing the risk of disasters, flooding and landslides.

FATHERHOOD

Isa 22:21 …and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your sash on him, and will commit your authority to his hand. And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.

While Bro. Tim Philpot was preaching on the above passage on 23 August, this word touched my heart. “He shall be a father”

In order to understand the above verse, we should go to the previous verses.

Isa 22:19-20 I will thrust you from your office, and you will be pulled down from your station.In that day I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah.

This was said about Shebna the steward

Isa 22:15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, “Come, go to this steward, to Shebna, who is over the household and say to him:

Shebna was said to be the steward who was appointed over the household of the palace.

Paul stresses the most important quality of a steward.

1Co 4:2 Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

Since Shebna was not faithful in the management of the household, the Lord sent a word against him.

Isa 22:17-18 Behold, the LORD will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize a firm hold on you. And whirl you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a wide land. There you shall die, and there shall be your glorious chariots, you shame of your master's house.

Shebna, instead of being faithful and honest, brought shame to his master’s house.

Hence the Lord replaced him with another man Eliakim. The only quality that is said of Eliakim is

“And he shall be a father”

He was appointed in the palace as treasurer in the place of Shebna. Even those who are in civil administration are expected to be “Fathers” for their subjects.

Calling to be a leader, whether political or spiritual, in a nation is partaking in the “Fatherhood” of God. More than an administrator, the Lord expects them to be “Fathers” for the people of the nation. Just like a father provides for and protects a family, the administrators of the nation should provide for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual safety and security of all the people in the nation.

In Manaveli Street the roads were messy with a lot of ravines. We made an appeal in the heavenly court in the month of June that the road work should be done. By the month of July, all the work was done.

In Pattavarthi village there was a big clash between two different communities related to Dr Ambedkar’s statue on his birthday. We made an appeal in the heavenly court against it. This year there was no clash between the two groups by the grace of God.

At least 14 killed as fierce storms and severe flooding lash southern Europe

At least 14 people have died and several remain missing across Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria as torrential rain and severe flooding batter southern Europe.

Flooding has claimed at least three lives in mainland Greece, seven in Turkey and left at least four people dead on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastline.

Greece, which has seen particularly intense rainfall, is braced for more flooding as the storm continues on Thursday.

A level 2 of 3 warning for severe storms was issued Wednesday for parts of Greece, with threats including torrential rainfall and potentially tornadoes.

The storm, which has officially been named Daniel by the national meteorological services in southeast Europe, has lashed the country with several months’ worth of rain, flooding homes, businesses and roads.

It has claimed at least three lives in Greece. The latest victim was a man in his 80s who was swept away by the flooding near the town of Karditsa, in central Greece.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Greek Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias called the storm an “unprecedented phenomenon.”

He said that four people remain missing in central Greece, the part of the country that has been hit the hardest by the storm.

Kikilias noted that the port city of Volos, located around 330 kilometers (190 miles) north of Athens, is still dealing with heavy rains and the aftermath of the flooding, which damaged buildings and cars and caused the collapse of roads and bridges. The port of Volos was non-operational on Wednesday as much of the city remained without electricity.

Residents of a nursing home in the city had to relocate after a part of the building collapsed due to the rains, Greek public broadcaster ERT said on Wednesday.

During a televised briefing Wednesday, meteorologist Dimitris Ziakopoulos, who works for the Greek government’s civil protection department, said the rainfall “is a huge number for Greek records and for most regions in Europe.” Greek meteorologists have said the rainfall exceeds the amount normally seen in an entire year.

According to observations by Greece’s meteorological service, 600 to 800 millimeters of rain fell in the area around Mount Pelion, near Volos, within 24 hours.

Roads have collapsed in the area and dozens of residents trapped in the floods in Pelion were evacuated by the Greek fire service.

Traffic has been banned in the towns of Trikala, Farsala and Karditsa in central Greece, according to police.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the country was facing a “totally extreme weather phenomenon,” as he urged the public to follow instructions from authorities.

In Turkey, at least five people have been killed in flash floods caused by torrential rain in Kırklareli, in the north-western part of the country, according to state news agency Anadolu. Two of the bodies were found on Tuesday and three on Wednesday.

Another two people died in the Istanbul districts of Başakşehir and Küçükçekmece on Tuesday, according to the Turkish Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).

Severe flooding has also struck Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastline. Four deaths have been confirmed in the municipality of Tsarevo in southern Bulgaria, one of the country’s worst affected areas, according to national broadcaster BNT.

Weather conditions along the southern Black Sea coast have improved, and electricity and water have been turned back on, according to BNT. However, water can only be used for domestic purposes and not for drinking, according to BNT.

Many of the roads and bridges in the area have been damaged and repairs are underway, BNT reported.

“What is expected in the coming days is to evaluate the most urgent repairs that need to be done,” Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said Wednesday, according BNT.

The severe rain is the result of a very strong low-pressure system. The center of the storm has slowed to a crawl west of Greece in the Mediterranean and is expected to bring heavy rounds of rainfall across the region for the next day or so.

The storm appears to be forming into a tropical-like cyclone known as a “medicane”. These systems can bring dangerous conditions to the Mediterranean Sea and coastal countries, similar to tropical storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic or typhoons in the Pacific.

The flooding tops off a summer in Europe characterized by extreme weather, from heat waves to devastating wildfires. Scientists are clear that as the human-caused climate crisis accelerates, this kind of extreme weather will become more common and more severe.

Romans 12:2 (UKJV) And do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable, and perfect.

While I was meditating on this verse today, the word "by testing" touched me.

Many Christians pray that God's will should be fulfilled in their lives.

But how can you discern and

come to a conclusion about the will of God?

The word of God says "By testing". We have heard the words test and testing in schools and laboratories. In school, there is a teacher who tests the student's performance.

In the above verse Rom 12:2, our mind is the master who conducts the test.As a teacher handles a student, the mind should take every issue of a person's life, put it to the test and evaluate its worth.

To perform this action, the mind should have been accredited and qualified.As a teacher gets a proper education through courses like Teacher Training or B. Ed, to coach a student, a believer should train up his mind in 6 subjects.

This discipline will renew his mind and his whole being will be transformed.

Let us ponder on these 6 subjects.

LOVE.

Sol Rubini (SMLA Embalam Constituency): I don’t know how to read and write. But after participating in AOJ prayers, one day Lord spoke to me and gave the Jeremiah 4^th chapter to read. I approached my neighbor to read this, God insisted me the verse 22. So, I have prayed for my people and the Lord doing mighty things. GLORY TO JESUS.

Tropical Storm Hilary unleashed furious flash floods east and west of Los Angeles on Sunday as the system made its historic arrival in California after barrelling through Mexico's Baja California peninsula with deadly force.

One person died in Mexico amid reports of flash flooding in the peninsula, where some roads were swept away and images on social media showed raging torrents gushing down city streets that had been turned into rivers, Reuters reported.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for much of Southern California, with flash flood warnings in effect until at least 3 a.m. on Monday in a region that is more accustomed to drought.

Mountain and desert areas could get 5 to 10 inches of (12 to 25 cm) rain, as much as the deserts typically see in a year, forecasters said.

The first tropical storm to pelt Los Angeles County since 1939 triggered serious flooding in the San Gabriel Mountains east of the city and coastal areas to the northwest in Ventura County.

San Bernardino County ordered evacuations of a number of towns in the mountains and valleys where social media images showed torrents of water, mud, rock, and trees.

In Wrightwood, California, about 70 miles (112 km) northeast of Los Angeles, the rain-washed trees and mud down a hill in Sheep Canyon. Further east in Oak Glen - one of five San Bernardino County towns under evacuation orders - gushing floodwater threw trees, mud, and rock into the air.

Sol.Samsonpal.Iwc Chennai: The prophecy was fulfilled. The road in the area where our worship center is located was bumpy and potholed. Water stagnates in this area during the rainy season. There are three schools in this area. It is difficult for children to go to school during the rainy season. It hurt my heart to see this. Our worship center is located here. So, I said a prophecy; "Let a new road be laid here in the name of Jesus". A new road was laid within 12 days. Thank God.

Heavy rain and high-water levels on rivers in northeastern China were threatening cities downstream on August 4, prompting the evacuation of thousands, although the country appears to have averted the worst effects of the typhoon season battering parts of east Asia.

Hebei province surrounding the capital Beijing on three sides issued alerts for several of its cities. The province of Heilongjiang to the north, was evacuating entire villages in anticipation of life-threatening deluges.

Rescue work remains under way. At least 20 people have been reported killed in Beijing’s outer suburbs and another 27 were missing following the weekend storms that quickly overwhelmed drainage systems.

Beijing usually has dry summers, but had a stretch of record-breaking heat this year that broke dramatically over the weekend with almost a week of constant rain and drizzle. Power was knocked out in areas, public transport and summer classes were suspended and citizens of the metropolis of more than 20 million were told to stay home.

The nearby cities of Tianjin and Zhuozhou were also hit hard. Fire services aided by volunteer rescue groups searched apartment buildings and railway tunnels for stranded people, bringing hundreds to safety.

With its status as the nation's capital, the headquarters of the ruling Communist Party and home to cultural treasures such as the ancient Forbidden City, Beijing has provided special protection from flooding through the diversion of waters to neighbouring regions. That sparked complaints on social media, on Friday, of flooding in surrounding areas that could allegedly have been avoided if the rainwater had been flushed through the capital's system of canals and rivers.

Other regions, especially in China’s south, have suffered unusual deadly summer flooding. Other parts of the country are struggling with drought, putting further pressure on food supplies for the nation's 1.4 billion people already struggling with the disruption in grain shipments resulting from Russia's war against Ukraine.

Muddy water surging down streets washed away cars in the hilly Mentougou district on Beijing’s western edge. “A couple of cars parked behind my apartment building disappeared in just one minute,” said resident Liu Shuanbao.

“In Zhuozhou, southwest of Beijing, some 125,000 people from high-risk areas were moved to shelters,” Xinhua said.

President Xi Jinping issued an order for local governments to go “all out” to rescue those trapped and minimise loss of life and property damage.

The government of Tianjin, a port east of Beijing, said 35,000 people were evacuated from near the swollen Yongding River.

As much as 500 millimetres (almost 20 inches) of rain has fallen in some places since Saturday, according to the Hebei province weather agency. Some areas reported as much as 90 millimetres (3 1/2 inches) of rainfall per hour.

“Some 13 rivers exceeded warning levels in the Haihe Basin, which includes Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang,” Xinhua said, citing the Ministry of Water Resources.

“About 42,000 people were evacuated from areas of Shanxi province to Hebei’s west,” it reported, citing emergency officials.

In early July, at least 15 people were killed by floods in the southwestern region of Chongqing, and about 5,590 people in the far northwestern province of Liaoning had to be evacuated. In the central province of Hubei, rainstorms trapped residents in their vehicles and homes.

China’s deadliest and most destructive floods in recent history were in 1998, when 4,150 people died, most of them along the Yangtze River.

In 2021, more than 300 people died in flooding in the central province of Henan. Record rainfall inundated the provincial capital of Zhengzhou on July 20 that year, turning streets into rushing rivers and flooding at least part of a subway line, trapping passengers in the cars.

Meanwhile, in the eastern Shandong province, authorities also warned of flooding risks as water levels on the Zhangwei River continued to rise.

China was largely spared by Typhoon Khanun, which on Thursday lashed Japan, damaging homes and knocking out power on Okinawa and other islands. China’s National Meteorological Center had initially expected the typhoon to make landfall in the southeastern Zhejiang province, where local authorities called ships into port and halted passenger ferry services.

I will teach you in the way you shall go!

We see the Bible in various characters instructed and led by GOD.

Psalms 32:8 (UKJV) I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye.

This is the promise of God for his children. The way He instructs and teaches to go need not necessarily be a highway that is smooth and nice.

Mat 2:19 But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child's life are dead.” And he rose and took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.

For Joseph, the way shown would have been a footpath. He would have selected that path to rescue the life of the child Jesus.

Why this path was narrow? Because of the monitoring spirits that watch your steps and what you do, your activities, and your behavior, especially the words that you say. Monitoring spirits go and report it to their master satan. He then plans schemes to destroy what the Lord has planned for you.

Again, it is said about Joseph and his family,

Mat 2:22-23 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

Things might seem to happen naturally. Due to fear, they seemed to have gone to settle down in Galilee. Because they were scared. But it was in fulfilment of a prophecy.

Joseph understood properly the prophecies uttered over Jesus were being fulfilled.

In our life let’s ask God even if it’s a narrow path, he should instruct and show us the right way.

God can show us a narrow or hidden path when there is danger.

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.

The Lord asked the Church in India to hide and not to come to the public stage for 7 years 2014-2020! That was a safety measure to protect itself from public eyes during the time of persecution!

Whichever path the Lord shows will be the best way for us to go!

The Lord has shown us a way to go these days of Jubilee Celebration!

Praise the Lord! This is the testimony of one sister who attended Blessed troop church last week, for the first time. She has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder in the last 10 years and had all sorts of medical complications due to that. After attending troop church last week and being prayed for by troopers, she started experiencing the Lord's presence in her life like never before. She started hearing God’s word to her continuously and for the past 3 days, her health has started improving. She was not able to laugh or exert herself without chest pain. But for the last 3 days, she has no pain. All glory to Jesus! Thank you, Lord Jesus! Jesus is alive and still healing, delivering, and setting captives free! Hallelujah!

The top court in a central Indian state has granted bail to seven Christians, including two pastors and a pregnant woman after they spent close to two months in jail for the alleged violation of the stringent anti-conversion law.

The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Sept. 4 granted bail to Pastors Anil Chouhan and Suresh Dawar and five others, including 28-year-old Durga Mangilal who is pregnant.

“They were trapped in a totally false case,” Pastor Jayakar Kristi, who is following the case, told UCA News on Sept. 6.

The pastors visited a village in the state to conduct a meeting, but “it was dubbed as a case of religious conversion,” he observed.

“Their arrest and incarceration are totally in violation of the provisions of the anti-conversion law,” Kristi explained.

The pastors and other Christians moved the High Court after two lower courts rejected their bail applications, he added.

Advocate Umesh Manshore, who appeared for the Christians, told the court that under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, the case has to be filed by the person who was being converted or by his/her close relatives.

“Whereas in this case, the case was filed by a stranger,” Manshore told the court.

Besides, police also failed to comply with the 2014 order of the Supreme Court, the top court in the country, that directed police to serve a notice to the accused if the maximum punishment is up to five years, Manshore said.

The High Court in its order said, “It is a fit case to grant bail to the applicants.”

The court, however, asked the Christians to furnish a personal bond of Rs.50,000 (US$607) each.

“This is a clear case of gross violation and misuse of the anti-conversion law,” said Daniel John, a Catholic leader based in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.

Police in Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh arrested the Christians on July 16 following a complaint from one Tukaram, who is identified by his first name, and five others.

They said the pastors and others were luring Hindus to become Christians, which is a crime under the state’s sweeping anti-conversion law.

They also accused the Christians of defaming Hindu gods like Lord Hanuman and sought action against them for violating the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2021, popularly known as the anti-conversion law.

“The right-wing Hindu activists assaulted the pastors before handing them over to police,” Kristi said.

Since 2003, the pro-Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been heading the central Indian state, which goes to the polls this year.

In 2021, the pro-Hindu party tightened the more than five decades old anti-conversion law with provisions for imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine.

Out of India’s 28 provincial states, Madhya Pradesh is among 11 states where a draconian anti-conversion law is in full force.

“The amended anti-conversion law has made the life of Christians miserable in the state,” Daniel John told UCA News on Sept. 6.

As per the amended law, “If a Christian offers food to a hungry person who happens to be Hindu, it can be interpreted as allurement and the poor Christian can end up in jail,” John said.

“Anybody lodges a complaint, Christians are arrested and put behind bars,” he added.

Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, along with Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram and Rajasthan states will take place in October and November this year.

Christians make up a mere 0.29 percent of more than 72 million people in Madhya Pradesh, where the majority 80 percent are Hindus.

PROMISE OF GOD

Matthew 2:19-20 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

When we read the Bible, we see various characters who were instructed and led by GOD.

Psalms 32:8 (UKJV) I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye.

This is the promise of God for his children. The way He instructs and teaches to go need not necessarily be a highway that is smooth and nice.

For Joseph, the way shown would have been a footpath. He would have selected that path to rescue the life of the child Jesus.

Why was this path narrow? Because of the monitoring spirits that watch your steps what you do, your activities and your behavior, especially the words you say. Monitoring spirits go and report it to their master satan. He then plans schemes to destroy what the Lord has planned for you.

Again, it is said about Joseph and the family,

Mat 2:22-23 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

Things might look as if happening naturally. Due to fear, they seemed to have gone to settle down in Galilee. Because they were scared. But it was in fulfilment of a prophecy.

Joseph understood properly the prophecies uttered over Jesus were being fulfilled.

In our life let’s ask God even if it’s a narrow path, he should instruct and show us the right way.

WHAT CAUSED THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IN 140 YEARS IN BEIJING AND NORTHERN CHINA?

Extreme rain battered Beijing, Tianjin and the province of Hebei in the wake of Typhoon Doksuri in late July, causing widespread flooding and damage in a region the size of Britain.

The storms, which have killed at least 20 people and led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents, were the worst to hit China in over a decade, with Beijing experiencing its heaviest rainfall in 140 years.
HOW SEVERE WAS THE RAINFALL?
The amount of rainfall since Saturday has breached many local meteorological records.
A reservoir in Beijing's Changping district logged a precipitation reading of 744.8mm (29.3 inches) between Saturday and Wednesday, the most in the city in over 140 years and far exceeding the previous record of 609mm set in 1891.

The persistent downpour prompted Beijing to use a flood storage reservoir for the first time since its establishment 25 years ago to divert floodwater.
In Hebei, one local weather station recorded 1,003mm of rain for a three-day period from Saturday to Monday, an amount normally seen over a year and a half.

HOW DID THE EXTREME RAIN HAPPEN?
Besides the remnants of Doksuri, warm and humid air-flows and water vapour brought by Typhoon Khanun slowly moving in the Western Pacific created the conditions for the heavy rains, according to Chinese meteorologists.
As the residual circulation of Doksuri's rain clouds headed north, a subtropical and continental high pressure system in the atmosphere also blocked their north and eastward passage, leading to the continuing convergence of water vapour that acted like a dam storing the water, the meteorologists say.

Topographic features in the area also contributed to the weather. As large amounts of vapour gathered in northern China, it was then lifted up by a low-altitude wind, shifting precipitation east of the Taihang mountain range, where the worst-hit areas - including Beijing's Fangshan and Mentougou districts - are located.

Meanwhile, a series of convective clouds gathered over the area, resulting in heavy rainfall for a protracted period of time, further exacerbating the damage and complicating rescue operations.

HOW DAMAGING WAS THE RAIN?
In the urban parts of Beijing, hundreds of roads were flooded, forcing parks and tourism spots to shut. Hundreds of flights were either delayed or cancelled at the city's two major airports. Some subway lines and trains were also suspended.
The impact was more pronounced in the city's western suburbs. In Mentougou and Fangshan districts, raging water coursed down roads, sweeping away cars. Villages in mountainous areas were cut off, prompting authorities to deploy helicopters to drop off food, water and emergency supplies.
Hebei's Zhuozhou, a city with more than 600,000 people to the southwest of Beijing, was half-submerged, with about 134,000 residents affected and one-sixth of the city's population evacuated.

HAVE SIMILAR WEATHER EVENTS HAPPENED IN THE PAST?
Rain with intensity seen in the latest event following weakened typhoons is unusual in Beijing and its surroundings. The Chinese capital has observed at least 12 incidences of significant rain brought by typhoons since authorities started keeping records, according to state media.
In 2017 and 2018, Typhoon Haitang and Ampil both dumped over 100mm of rain on Beijing. One of the most significant rain events was caused by Typhoon Wanda in 1956, which unleashed more than 400mm of precipitation in the densely populated city.

Romans 9:2-3 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

Paul expresses his grief over his Israel brethren who are not saved.

He wants to be accursed from Christ for his brethren, his kinsmen.

Let’s ponder on the word “accursed from Christ”. Jesus Christ was accursed while on the cross at Calvary.

His final cry reveals it.

Mat_27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Mat 27:50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.

He died in the same accursed condition.

There are physical and spiritual conditions that people undergo in their lives.

I know one family, with a handicapped child which needs other’s help for everything. Their relatives considered this child as a curse to this family. But their parents took care of him and treated him with dignity just like their other children. There are many such families and individuals in the same or a little better situation today. In our society, we consider such children as cursed ones.

In Paul's language, he considers this as a ransom requirement for someone's salvation.

Let's check its biblical basis.

Isaiah 53:6-7 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep, before her shearers are dumb, so he opens not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:3 (UKJV) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

We, all who looked at him considered him as a cursed man. "We esteemed him not".

Jesus had to suffer all this to save mankind. He had to undergo “this accursed from Father” stage for our salvation.

So when someone is in the same accursed (physical or spiritual) condition today, there can be rightful reasons to come to the conclusion that they are suffering for others’ sake.

If anyone comes to a wrong conclusion that he is cursed by God and hence treat them accordingly they will be accountable and answerable to God like Job’s friends.

Paul willingly commits himself to such an “accursed from Christ” condition if it will help in the salvation of his community (Jews). It can be a sickness, lack of anything like food, shelter or proper clothes, recognition in the society, shame, rejection, fear, mental agony or anything. The extreme of it can be “Accursed from Christ” that is, even forsaken by Jesus Christ!

May the Lord not allow any man living in this world such a condition.

KASHMIR IS BLEEDING. SO IS ITS ECONOMY

India’s steamrolling of democracy and constitutional provisions has not worked in improving the region’s security or economic allure.

On January 1, 2023, as the world celebrated the start of a new year, several families were mourning in the Rajouri district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Armed men stormed a village and killed four civilians, injuring six others. Two more civilians were killed the following day.

Just a few weeks earlier, on December 13, India’s Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai had presented investment data for Jammu and Kashmir. The numbers spoke for themselves: investments have fallen by 55 percent over the past four years.

Together, the killings and the declining investments contradict two central arguments that have been at the heart of the Indian government’s rationale for the 2019 abrogation of the semi-autonomous status that the region previously enjoyed: that the move would help improve security and spur economic development.

In the past, federal governments in New Delhi have often blamed Jammu and Kashmir’s woes on local governments in power in the region. That’s no longer an excuse that works.

When the Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi eliminated Article 370 of the Indian constitution — which gave Kashmir “special status” — it also carved out the territory of Ladakh from the region. Kashmir’s statehood was withdrawn, and it was made a union territory, directly controlled by New Delhi.

Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t even have the disempowered legislature that other union territories have — the region hasn’t had elections in seven years. Yet it should now increasingly be clear, if it wasn’t previously, that sidelining democratic processes and principles, and steamrolling constitutional provisions, aren’t working in improving the region’s security or economic allure.

Attacks on civilians have increased in the last few years and are increasingly being directed at non-resident Hindus and the minority Kashmiri Pandit community. A S Dulat, the former chief of the Research and Analysis Wing, India’s external intelligence agency, recently highlighted the sophistication of these attacks. The targeted killings, he said, demonstrated that the armed groups have a strong intelligence network and possibly have members within the government.

The abrogation of Article 370 allowed non-residents to buy and own land in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. Critics of the region’s previous special status frequently cited restrictions on land ownership as a major reason why private sector industries were reluctant to set up businesses there.

However, data published by the Indian government’s Ministry of Home Affairs — and made public by Rai — calls a bluff on those claims. Total investment in 2021-22 in Jammu and Kashmir stood at $46m, down from $50.5m the previous year, and dramatically less than the $102.8m spent in 2017-18.

While the COVID-19 pandemic no doubt affected Kashmir’s economy, the statistics suggest that wasn’t the biggest factor in investments drying up. After all, the steepest fall in investments came the year that the Indian government ended Kashmir’s semi-autonomous status, before the pandemic, halving from $72.3m in 2018-19 to $36.3m in 2019-20.

Things aren’t much better on the security front. Although political protests have subsided because most pro-independence leaders have been imprisoned, armed groups appear to have changed their tactics.

At least 18 Kashmiri Pandits and non-resident Hindus have been killed in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.

As with the economy, the Indian government’s own data does not support claims that armed groups have been contained. The number of attacks by such groups was 229 in 2021, not significantly different from many previous years: There were 279 incidents in 2017, 322 in 2016, 208 in 2015, 222 in 2014 and 170 in 2013, the year before Modi came to power.

The Indian government had claimed that Article 370 restricted people’s participation in the political process and led to a few families dominating the politics of the region. However, since 2019, Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party has taken steps to further disempower local Kashmiris.

First, constituency boundaries for the region’s legislature were redrawn in a way that gives Hindu-majority Jammu a greater say in elections than its population, relative to Muslim-majority Kashmir’s, merits. In effect, that strengthens the chances of the BJP coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir.

Then a revision of the voter list was carried out, giving voting rights to outsiders. Jammu and Kashmir is home to hundreds of thousands of migrant workers and army personnel — if allowed to vote, their electoral influence is going to be significant.

Some Kashmiri leaders have invoked the region’s 1987 elections which were allegedly rigged and were considered a tipping point when the armed separatist movement in Kashmir took off.

Meanwhile, armed groups may continue to adopt attacks on non-local civilians as the mainstay of their strategy to signal their opposition to demographic changes attempted by New Delhi.

While Kashmiris and non-locals alike suffer, there is no reason to expect that Modi and his government will change their policy towards the region. The BJP’s hardline approach towards Kashmir helps it bolster its image in the rest of India as a party that is tough on “terrorism” and “separatism”.

The truth, of course, is more complicated. The BJP’s policies have led to increased insecurity for people living in the region — whether they’re Hindu or Muslim. And there has been no economic payoff, either.

Romans 8:27 (UKJV) And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

One who searches the heart is the Holy Spirit. He makes every motive of the human heart subject to screening and exposes its intention.

For example, someone voluntarily come forward to donate food for 1000 people and it is made viral in the media.

All might speak highly about this man and the good deed he did. But the Holy Spirit searches his heart and will find the exact intention of his heart in supplying food. It can be one among the following:

He would try to make a name for him
To get votes in election
To help the starving
To convert black money into white money etc.

The Holy Spirit will screen all the above and put a tick against the real one. It will be recorded in heaven.

The one who searches human hearts is the Holy Spirit. He is the same Spirit who knows the mind of Jesus Christ also. The motive of His searching our heart is to check and bring it in line with the mind of Jesus Christ.

"He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

After searching the heart, the Holy Spirit prepares and publishes the check result which may expose any of its deviations from the will of God.

What is the Will of God?

Each person who is born on this earth has a destiny and a purpose which is written in the book of heaven. It comes to the earth through Prophecy.

Fulfilling this plan is the duty of each human being on the earth.

The Holy Spirit, if given freedom tries to align the motives of our heart with the perfect "Will of God". He also grants the grace to desire, cherish, execute the will of God in our lives. And it is said

"He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us so that we get the grace to co-operate with Him in fulfilling the will of God!

What amazing truths the Bible exposes!

Romans 8:26 (UKJV) Likewise the Spirit (o. pneuma) also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit (o. pneuma) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered!

This is another added work of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit knows that we are not even able to pray for us in the way we should. So He takes responsibility for that too.

What a privileged people we are!

We are not even aware of our real needs! We might be asking Abba Father for our portion of daily bread, fish and egg. But our spirits might be "in danger" which we may not be aware.

The Holy Spirit knowing the true condition of our spirits and what we are in need of urgently!

One sister was sharing with me her agony when her son was sick and in ICU. Since she was not allowed inside all the time, she used to beg to the nurses working inside and groan in prayer asking God to rescue him from death since doctors had forsaken him.

She could do it since she knew her son's condition.

Sometimes we may not even know our real condition. If we know we can pray hard to God to save us.

When we do not even realize our pitiable condition hence do not pray, He comes to our rescue and intercedes for us. He even 'groans' in His utter desperate condition to safeguard us. Let us thank the Holy Spirit for this marvellous help.

TROPICAL STORM HILARY UNLEASHES FLASH FLOODS IN CALIFORNIA

Tropical Storm Hilary unleashed furious flash floods east and west of Los Angeles on Sunday as the system made its historic arrival in California after barreling through Mexico's Baja California peninsula with deadly force.
One person died in Mexico amid reports of flash flooding in the peninsula, where some roads were swept away and images on social media showed raging torrents gushing down city streets that been turned into rivers.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for much of Southern California, with flash flood warnings in effect until at least 3 a.m. (1000 GMT) on Monday in a region that is more accustomed to drought.

Mountain and desert areas could get 5 to 10 inches of (12 to 25 cm) rain, as much as the deserts typically see in a year, forecasters said.
The first tropical storm to pelt Los Angeles County since 1939 triggered serious flooding in the San Gabriel Mountains east of the city and coastal areas to the northwest in Ventura County.

San Bernardino County ordered evacuations of a number of towns in the mountains and valleys where social media images showed torrents of water, mud, rock, and trees.
In Wrightwood, California, about 70 miles (112 km) northeast of Los Angeles, the rain-washed trees and mud down a hill in Sheep Canyon. Further east in Oak Glen - one of five San Bernardino County towns under evacuation orders - gushing floodwater threw trees, mud, and rock into the air.
To the west in more populated Ventura County, the National Weather Service warned of life-threatening flooding where up to 2 inches (5 cm) of rain fell within two hours. The weather service reported cars stuck in the community of Spanish Hills, where it said firefighters conducted swift water rescues.
Newsom, on a tour of Southern California, said Palm Springs, a desert getaway in Riverside County about 100 miles (160 km) east of Los Angeles, was dry when he left on Sunday but an hour later it had received "the most significant rainfall over a 60-minute period any time in the history of Palm Springs." The streets were soon flooded.
"That's how quickly this system is moving. Take nothing for granted," Newsom told a news briefing in Los Angeles after he said he updated U.S. President Joe Biden, who ordered federal agencies to move personnel and supplies into the region.

The storm stunned people in the nearby town of Rancho Mirage, where water and debris rushed over closed roads and stranded at least one pickup truck that was stuck in water nearly to the top of its bed.
"It's quite amazing. I've never seen anything like this," said Sean Julian, 54, of Rancho Mirage. "I'm seeing a lot more trees down. And there's a big tree that just fell over there, and I probably shouldn't be out here."
DJ Hilton of neighboring Cathedral City said: "We've had storms before, but never anything quite this windy and rainy at the same time."
At 8 p.m. PDT (0300 GMT), Hilary was 105 miles (170 km) northwest of San Diego, packing winds of 45 mph (75 kph) and moving to the north-northwest, the weather service said.
Hundreds of flights in San Diego, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles were canceled, and professional sporting matches were rescheduled. The Los Angeles Unified School District and San Diego Unified School District, the two largest school districts in the state, canceled classes for Monday. Dangerous surf pounded the beaches in Southern California.
Floodwaters raced through the concrete banks of the Los Angeles River, which normally contains barely a trickle. In Ocotillo, a desert town about 90 miles east of San Diego, rock slides brought boulders down on Interstate 8, causing traffic delays on the highway to Arizona.
Hilary made landfall earlier on Sunday in the northern part of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, where nearly 1,900 people were evacuated to shelters, according to the country's army.
The storm was especially dangerous in low-income areas where many homes fail to meet building codes.
"We've always been aware that it's a risky area. A lot of water runs (nearby) but what are we going to do? It's the only place we have to live," said Yolanda Contreras, living in a flood-prone area of Rosarito, about 15 miles south of the U.S.-Mexican border.
