Mark 7:22  The spirit of evil thoughts

“Therefore, what God has joined together, man must never separate” Mk 10:9

Two words are noteworthy in the above verse.

1 Must

2 Never

Both are used for emphasis.

In one of the counselling incidents, I came across the following case. One Christian girl was given in marriage with the dowry of Rs 1 crore, a car worth Rs 20 lakhs and 140 sovereign of gold. In order to earn this money,  her father left the family , his wife and went abroad just after his marriage, even before the daughters’ birth! 25 years he was working outside the country. He visited the family only once in 4 years. I asked this daughter, “How did  you remember your father? She said, I hardly did! I could not recognize his face”. Even for the marriage of his daughter , he did not get leave! He left home the next day after her marriage! The money was hard earned! But just after 45 days of marriage, the girl came away to her own house. Her family is looking for divorce now! I asked her the reason for divorce! Reply she gave was, “My husband told me, I am not beautiful”. I was told that the broker who brought this alliance got 1 lakh each from both the bride and bridegroom side!

Where are we going? Our Church going? A critical question to be asked!

This month (February 2017) let us pray for husbands and wives that they to receive God’s grace to forgive and be reconciled with each other in the name of Jesus Christ.

Let us prophesy in the name of Jesus Christ that the sacredness of marriage covenant be safeguarded in India and all over the world.

Week- 3          

1. That husbands and wives forgive hurts and be reconciled with each before sunset and go to sleep in peace.
2. That husband and wife think high of the other and love each other.
3. That they seek the good of each other.
4. That they preserve a balance between spirit , soul and body.
5. That they be careful to see that the soul and body is submissive to the spirit (the spirit united with the Spirit of God).

Week-4

1. Husbands and wives pray everyday in union of spirits
2. That they read the Bible in common and share with the children.
3. That they fear God and be careful to observe all of Jesus Christ is instructions and teach the same to the children.
4. That they fight against the world, satan and flesh and be victorious.
5. That they find solutions to their family problems in prayer and the word of God.

*Mark 16 -  17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.*

 *Wow amazing to know what the Word of God says a believer can truly do.*

 *But are we doing this ?*

*Healing and preaching go hand to hand.*

 *Luke 9 -  1. Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.*

TEACHING: Truth about baptism –  baptism, “it is a counterfeit currency”, thus says the Lord. Can the believers escape hell fire? What happens when a blind leads a blind? (Luke 6:39).

3) IMPORTANCE OF IMMERSION BAPTISM  

3 (1) THE FATHER GOD'S PLAN: JOHN THE BAPTIST WAS SENT TO INTRODUCE WATER BAPTISM

Baptism was so important that the Father in Heaven sent John the Baptist ahead of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the “confirmation” that you belong to Christ.  John 1:31 I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”  John 1:31.

It is very clear from the above verse that the angles and also the demons come to know that some one belonging to Christ ONLY through baptism.

3(2) BAPTISM OFFERS ENTRY IN THE BOOK OF LIFE OF THE LAMB 

Heaven accepts a person as a child of God through baptism. The name is written in the Book of Life of the Lamb only on taking baptism.    

Matthew 3:16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.

By complying with water baptism covenant, the Lord Jesus has shown us that we should also comply with water baptism covenant to become eligible to enter His Kingdom.     

 3 (3) THE LORD CALLS IMMERSION BAPTISM, “RIGHTEOUSNESS”    

Matthew 3:13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” 15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.    

When the Lord God, Jesus has said complying with baptism covenant is “righteousness”, can anyone argue against baptism and hope to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

 3(4) REJECTING BAPTISM IS NOT VIEWED KINDLY BY THE LORD   

 Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him meaning the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God against their own good. Thus the word of God is clear that the ones who rejected the baptism of John the Baptist landed up in hell.      Could there be a different logic and different judgement now?

Corrupting Christian Liturgy With The Fantabulosa Fairy

Westcott House, an Anglican college of theology in Cambridge England, recently came under fire for allowing gay slang or Polari to be used in a liturgical service. Forced to apologize after the outcry, the college was conducting a "liturgical experiment" to honor LGTB history month by "queering the liturgy of evening prayer, locating the queer within the compass of faith, and recovering for the Christian tradition a sense of its own intrinsically subversive jouissance," according to a printed pamphlet. It was only two months ago that another Anglican church was forced to apologize for allowing a Muslim woman to recite verses from the Qur'an that denied the divinity of Christ during a Christmas service.

In this most recent service, the Holy Spirit was referred to as the "fantabulosa fairy" and God the Father became just "the Duchess" in this queer performance. What is Polari exactly and what are the implications of this assault on Christian values? Polari is a fringe language that began in Britain between the 16th and 19th centuries as an argot of actors, street performers, sailors, prostitutes and criminals. As many gay men and women occupied these fringe areas of society, Polari became the de facto language of the homosexual community and took on a code-like, underground status when homosexuality became illegal. A mix of Italian, Romani, Palare, Yiddish, London Slang, sailor slang, thieves cant and rhyming slang, the language was closely associated with the gay subculture until the 1960s when it began to decline in use.

Polari, with a vocabulary of more than 500 unique words, closely mirrors that of English and its other associated languages in grammatical structure. There does exist a Polari Bible for the curious, though it must be noted that the introduction on the homepage encourages readers to "Go forth and sin some more!". The language of God's divine word becomes at times trite and frivolous and at others even seems mocking in the parlance of the Polari dialect. In short, it has taken the majesty from the Bible in an act of deliberate, blasphemous corruption.

The Guardian reported that the Reverend Canon Christ Chivers, the college's principal, called the service "hugely regrettable," and recognized that "It used a form of liturgy which was not an authorized act of worship in line with the college's procedures." He went on to say that he does "fully recognize that the contents of the service are at variance with the doctrine and teaching of the Church of England, and that is hugely regrettable."

Supporters of the Polaric liturgy claim that "the hope is that just as Jesus welcomed the outcast (tax collectors, widows and sex workers, people on the fringe, often overlooked by the Church), today we might follow in the footsteps of His daring, boldly and outrageously welcoming the Queer (both human and divine) in a way never before attempted." 

Yet this misses the essential points of what took place 2,000 years ago. No one would bat an eye if a person "on the fringe" were welcomed into a church service and shown Godly compassion along with proper teachings of Church doctrine. That is what Jesus did. But to twist and pervert the Holy Gospel to stoop down to the level of sin rather than raising those ensnared by iniquity? That is the folly we see here. With average church attendance now hovering below 1% in Wales, we are likely to see more such attempts to expand; to appeal to a wider audience. But this cannot be allowed to come at the expense of core beliefs and values in the name of inclusion. Once you sacrifice those, very little of value or goodness remains. As Pastor Lawrence Farley points out, this is just a symptom of a larger disease of liberal thinking in the Church today, and just as a tumor indicates a much larger problem, so also do these incidents of blasphemy and corruption in the chapel.

Egypt: Christian Schoolteacher Gunned Down by Suspected ISIS Militants

An Egyptian Coptic Christian was gunned down by suspected ISIS militants as he made his way to the school where he teaches. According to Christian Today, Gamal Tawfiq, 50, was targeted by the militants who shot him in the head as he made his way to El-Samran School in el-Arish, Northern Sinai, where he works as a teacher. The suspected militants were riding a motorbike and reportedly followed Tawfiq from his home. Tawfiq’s murder marks the second Christian killed in under a week. Another Coptic Christian, Bahgat Zakher, was also killed by militants. In recent months, there have been several other Christian-targeted killings in Egypt, including five Coptic Christians who had their throats slashed in January, and a massive suicide bombing of a church in December that killed 27 people and wounded over 40. Christian persecution has been increasing in Egypt, which is number 17 on Open Doors 2017 World Watch List for Christian persecution.

Petition for Trump to Sign Religious Freedom Order Gets 107,000 Signatures in a Week

Those in the Christian community are urging President Trump to sign an executive order protecting religious freedom. The petition, in the form of an open letter to the President, has received 107,000 signatures in just one week.  “Thank you for being diligent in your efforts to keep your campaign promise to protect religious liberty – a fundamental right that originates from God, not the government. Rather, it is the role of government to protect and preserve these rights,” reads the letter. The petition goes on to cite instances of Christians’ religious freedom being violated, such as when Christian businesses have been forced to participate in gay wedding ceremonies. “For this reason, we are seeking relief by changes in policy and laws to protect and preserve the religious liberty of not just religious institutions but also of individual Christians and Christian business owner,” it says. The letter also includes a video message from American Family Association president Tim Wildmon who condemns violations of Christians’ religious freedom and says, “President Trump can do something about it with this religious freedom executive order."

India: Christian Couple Who Refused to Deny Christ Forced to Stand in Freezing Pond for 17 Hours

A Christian couple in India was severely punished by being made to stand in frigid water for 17 hours because they refused to deny their Christian faith. The Christian Post reports that Bartu Urawn and his wife, who both converted to Christianity from their village’s tribal religion, Sarna Dharam, over 10 years ago, were targeted by members of Kubuaa village in the Jharkhand state. Village members who adhere to Sarna Dharam abducted Urawn and his wife, tied their hands, and forced them to stand neck-deep in the frigid pond water from 5 p.m. through 10 a.m. the next morning. They also forced the couple’s son, Beneswar, to watch his parents endure this torture. When the couple didn’t die from the freezing water, the villagers reportedly took them out and beat them. Bartu Urawn ultimately died from this beating and being immersed in the water. The Urawn family were also prohibited from giving Bartu a proper funeral. "I told the villagers that I will bury him in my own personal land, but they stood with wooden sticks to attack if I tried," Beneswar said. He and four other Christians had to carry his father’s body six miles to bury him on government land. The Urawns have been persecuted for their faith in various ways ever since converting. Previously, Bartu was forced by villagers to take part in their pagan sacrifice by eating a portion of the sacrificed animal. Additionally, other Christian converts in the Urawn’s village renounced their faith when faced with persecution. India ranks 15th on Open Doors 2017 World Watch List of countries where persecution is most severe. Although the country is officially a democracy, local authorities often overlook persecution of Christians and do not prosecute the perpetrators.

Trump is Right: It’s Moral and Legal to Prioritize Persecuted Christians

While President Trump’s executive order on refugee resettlement remains the subject of near-constant national discussion, there is one part of that order that shouldn’t be up for debate at all: It is moral and legal to prioritize religious minorities facing persecution. In fact, Trump should be celebrated for giving attention to religious minorities when Christians, Yazidis and others have so recently faced the threat of genocide in the Middle East.

The Old Testament - Roman Catholicism

The gospel eventually reached Rome which was the epicentre of the greatest empire in the world at the time. What happened here would have particular significance because what was decided in this city would be carried across the earth to its furthest outposts.

So what did happen here?

Christianity dropped into the midst of a city completely under the spell of Babylonian worship and whose emperor was the current High Priest of the Mysteries. Not an easy beginning. The people of Rome were thoroughly indoctrinated with the habits, superstitions and traditions that had originated with Nimrod and Semiramis. To be honest it was a cesspit. Therefore it should come as no surprise to learn that Christians were bitterly persecuted by the Romans, who tolerated everyone except those who believed in Jesus.

The claim that particularly infuriated Roman Emperors was that Jesus was

“the way, the truth and the life” and that “no one comes to the Father except by me.” John 4:16

This was a direct challenge to their position as gods. Christians utterly denied all pagan gods and refused to bow down to any of them, knowing that in doing so they would be bowing to demons and by proxy be bowing to Satan. This meant that whenever a tragedy occurred in Rome, Christians were made scapegoats, being blamed for bringing the wrath of the gods upon the people because of their unwillingness to sacrifice, appease or pay tribute to them. Christians unwillingness to bow to Emperors as gods was also considered an act of sedition.
