Message for reflection – Sr. Angelica AJ

Unworthy servants

So likewise you, when you shall have done all the things commanded you, say, we are unprofitable servants, for we have done what we ought to do.Luk 17: 11

Last week we were asked to pray for a sister who was in the last stage of cancer. She passed away.

When something happens  contrary to our expectation in our lives, (failures, sicknesses, death) we may ask. Why?

The above verse is the  perfect answer for our question.

While we are  busy plowing, or feeding the sheep, never forget that we are only servants who look after the sheep of the Master. We are not the owner. The Master only has the right on His sheep.

Even though we serve a King, the King of kings, even though serving Him is our privilege, we are only servants!

Luk 17:8-9 Will he not say to him, Prepare something so that I may eat, and gird yourself and serve me until I eat and drink. And afterward you shall eat and drink.  Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.

It is your duty to look after the sheep,  mentor them, (family members, workplace people etc) , correct them,  stabilize them and get them rooted them in the Word of God

After completing these duties - Prepare food for His Master. His Master lives in you!

Our body should feed  the spirit with spiritual food always before the  bodily needs are attended to.

However tired we are returning from the workplace, preparing food for the Master (Spirit) is our first and foremost duty

Gird yourself and serve me! until I eat and drink. And afterward you shall eat and drink.

The servant (Flesh)  should wait upon the Master (spirit) until the spirit  eats and drinks (spiritual food).

Afterward only body can eat and drink.

Luk 17:9  Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.

Body should not  expect ‘thanks’ from the Master (Spirit) after doing all that was commanded. Let our bodies always serve the spirit

Never make body the Master.

All the complaints, grumblings, murmurings come when body becomes the Master.

Never allow our body (flesh)  to rule over us,

Always let out spirits be humble serving Jehovah and His people. He is the one who rewards us.  Amen!

Warfare prayer of the soldiers of the Army of Jesus to bind and destroy the works of the devil

Let us bind and destroy the works of the devil in the name of Jesus Christ who has conquered sin, satan, curse and death on the cross

Rom  1:31 The spirit which makes men unloving

Schools Helping Students To Gender Transition Without Parental Knowledge

Imagine dropping your son off at school, never knowing that he lives a completely different existence as a girl for eight hours a day -- and everyone knows it but you. And not only do teachers know it, but they go to great lengths to hide it. That's the reality in Madison, Wisconsin, where moms and dads have been furious to find out that not only is the district keeping their children's gender expression a secret, but there's an elaborate scheme in place to keep parents from ever finding out!

Most kids can't take an Advil at school without getting their parents' permission -- but they can create a whole new identity without anyone calling home? Thanks to a policy passed in April 2018, this is the new normal for anyone in Madison public schools. And unlike other areas of the country, who've had to deal with the rogue principal here or there, this is a systemic, district-wide campaign to lie to parents and exploit their children.

Under the district's official policy, a girl or boy -- of any age -- can "transition to a different gender identity at school" completely confidentially. They can go to their teacher and demand to be called a new name or pronoun, even use a different bathroom, without their parents' okay. Even more amazingly, the district is forcing teachers and staff to take the lead in deceiving these families. Madison's policy orders them keep up appearances by using the kids' given names and pronouns whenever their parents are around. If a school employee is concerned that this new identity is creating problems or hurting the child, too bad. They're forbidden from bringing it up with parents.

In fact, the only time a mom or dad would be brought into the loop is if their son or daughter wanted to change their official records. Otherwise, they're completely in the dark -- something 14 parents in the district are hoping to change. Eight families are so outraged by Madison's policy that they've turned to the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) to take the district to court. Luke Berg, deputy counsel for WILL, dropped by "Washington Watch" Wednesday to warn other parents and give his take on one of the worst attacks on parental rights any of us have ever seen "We sent a letter in the hopes that the district would just change the policy," he explained.

When that didn't work, they filed a lawsuit. "They can either change the rules voluntarily," Luke warned, "or they can wait for a court order." Either way, he argues, "There's a long line of cases that have said that parents have a right to direct the upbringing of their children."

In this case, Luke points out, what's so egregious is that "the policies actually prohibit staff from notifying parents about this unless the child consents -- and in some cases, even require staff to actively deceive parents by using one name at school and then another when the parents show up... We think this violates that constitutional right, but it also comes close to violating a whole lot of state and federal laws..."  After all, he argues, "schools require parental permission for almost everything -- athletics, taking medication at school, field trips, and the like. So this is completely anomalous that a school district would take something as significant and controversial of an issue as gender and say this is one issue that we're going to allow students to decide totally on their own. And we're actually going to help them hide this from their parents, if they want."

This just goes to show how politicized the issue of gender identity is. A small fringe of LGBT activists are pushing this agenda on the local level, and it's putting entire cities of children at risk. Just look at what's happening in Madison's elementary schools, where a male teacher is demanding access -- not to the bathrooms of female staff, but to the bathrooms for girls'. "I am an open and out transgender woman," says the K-5 science teacher.

Allis Elementary School parents were horrified enough that "Mx." Vica Steele was showing five- and six-year-olds a video of him dressed as a woman -- but fighting to use little girls' restrooms is a bridge too far. "As a best practice," a spokesperson has said, "the district does encourage adult staff to not use a children's bathroom." But Steele vows to keep fighting -- and given Madison's track record, he'll probably win.

"I have been warning for years that one of the central efforts of the moral revolutionaries is to use the power and the structure of the public schools to separate children from their parents. In particular, to separate children from the moral authority and influence of their parents," Albert Mohler said. "That is also exactly what was undertaken in the former Soviet Union and throughout the communist bond. That is exactly what is championed in China and North Korea." And now? It's happening in Madison, Wisconsin.

The liberals who've infiltrated this district know that the only way to open up this pipeline of transition and acceptance is to keep parents on the sidelines. It's time for moms and dads to remind them that God, as well as the Constitution makes parents the authority -- not the schools -- in their children's decisions. Thanks to this lawsuit, Madison may finally get the message.

Do you know what's happening at your son or daughter's school?

Christians Suffer Two Months of Abuse in Jail on Baseless Charges in India

NEW DELHI, February 25, 2020 (Morning Star News) – Three Christians in northern India spent more than two months in jail suffering abuse from other prisoners, even though police found no evidence of wrongdoing and the complainant retracted his accusation, sources said. In Uttar Pradesh state’s Mau District, 23-year-old pastor Ajay Kumar, fellow pastor Om Prakash, 20, and another Christian, 62-year-old Kapil Dev Ram, still face fabricated charges after being released on bail late last month. Pastor Kumar said the time they spent in jail was a “nightmare.”

“Every night was a traumatic night for us,” Pastor Kumar told Morning Star News. “We did not know when a mob would wake us in the middle of the night and torment us.” Accused of forceful conversion by Hindu extremists who disrupted their Nov. 26 worship at Ram’s home in Daraura village, the two pastors were released on bail on Jan. 27 after two months and a day in jail. Ram was released on Jan. 29 after spending two months and three days in jail. In spite of the ordeal, the pastors managed to explain the gospel of eternal salvation to many prisoners in their barracks, with one putting his faith in Christ. Pastor Kumar said they faced the same kind of Hindu nationalist opposition in jail as they did outside it.

“Prisoners inside the jail showed their religious bias,” Pastor Kumar told Morning Star News. “We did not lie when our co-prisoners asked us the reason for us being in jail, and when we told them that it's a case of [forcible] conversion, they despised us and spread the word around.” A group of prisoners came on many nights to wake him and Ram, who were in one barrack while Prakash was in another, he said. “They used vulgar language and asked us how much foreign money we have earned by carrying out conversions,” Pastor Kumar said. “They demanded money from us, asking us to share the supposed loot with them. And when we explained that there was no money involved, they beat me with fists and legs. They spared Kapil from beatings as he is a senior citizen and said that I have to take his share of beating as well.” They faced continuous threats, including warnings that they would not be spared after their release, he said.

“‘We will deal with you outside the prison for carrying out conversions,’ said many of them, but we always spoke to them politely,” Pastor Kumar said. “There are things that happened to us that I cannot even share about.” One day an influential prisoner summoned him and asked him to pray for a man who had been unable to sleep at night since his arrest months before, Pastor Kumar said. “He will go crazy and die in the prison, I was told,” he said.

Pastor Kumar went to the man, prayed for him and began to spend time with him, he said. “One day he broke and began to confess his sins in prayer; he started to get sleep at nights,” Pastor Kumar said. “The troublesome prisoners began to trouble this man too, questioning him as to why he has started to pray along with the Christians, to which he answered, ‘When I was upset, nobody helped me. It was Ajay who told me about Christ and comforted me.’”

The day that Pastor Kumar and Ram were about to leave jail, the man told them that he believed in Christ and wanted to follow Him, the pastor said.

“I was full of joy,” he said. In the other barrack, Pastor Prakash was suffering from chickenpox and was quarantined for nearly two weeks. He received no medicine for his illness. “There was no neatness inside the jail. I could not sleep for the first full month. The food was extremely bad. Only because one must survive, one had to eat,” Pastor Prakash told Morning Star News. The 70 to 75 prisoners in his area came to know that he was a pastor, and he told each of them the gospel of eternal life, he said. “I spent time in prayer for two hours in the morning, and two hours in the evening,” he said. “People started to come to me with their prayer requests. I shared the Good News with all the prisoners in my barrack.” Of the nine prisoners released from his area while he was incarcerated, five said they wished to connect with him and attend his church after release, Pastor Prakash said.\“Though I went through a lot of troubles and hardships, I was happy I was inside, doing the Lord’s work,” Pastor Prakash said.

BASELESS ACCUSATION

Pastors Kumar and Prakash, who help lead Sharon Fellowship Church in Mohammadabad, Gohana about five miles from Daraura village, were visiting Ram’s home for the time of fellowship when the Hindu extremists intruded. After Pastor Kumar and Ram were detained that day, Nov. 26, Pastor Prakash and three other pastors arrived at the Ranipur police station to speak to the Station Officer (SO). One of the other pastors, Raj Kumar, told Morning Star News that the station officer said he questioned villagers who had attended the fellowship and found no evidence of forceful conversion.

“He said the people testified of the miracles that happened in their lives after attending prayer in Kapil’s house,” Pastor Raj Kumar said. “He met a lady who said that she could not conceive for 15 years and that after getting prayed for, she is six months pregnant now. The SO said that he found no ‘forceful conversions’ taking place in the village, and that these people have done nothing.” The officer told him and the others that he would keep the Christians in custody for one night and release them after their appearance before a judge the next day, he said. “We returned home only to learn later that a group of people from the Hindu organizations reached the police station after we left and pressured them to charge the Christians severely,” Pastor Raj Kumar said. Police registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 236) based on a written complaint from Prakash Paasi, chief of Daraura village. The High Court in Allahabad would grant the Christians bail in January based on Paasi’s deposition in favor of the accused Christians, Pastor Raj Kumar said.

“Prakash Paasi submitted a sworn affidavit in the court that stated that he was not in a proper frame of mind due to some domestic disturbance in his family, when some people came to his house and obtained his signatures on some documents that he had no idea about,” Pastor Raj Kumar said. “He also said that he later went and enquired of the people attending the prayer meeting and learned that there was no conversion taking place, but that it was a normal prayer meeting taking place in Kapil’s house.” The Christians posted bail of 400,000 rupees (US$5,555) each, sources said.

They were charged under Indian Penal Code sections for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, outraging religious feelings and inducing a person to believe that he will be rendered an object of the Divine displeasure, besides the charge under the religious institutions act. Under the Religious Institutions (Prevention of Misuse) Act, they were charged under Section 3, which prohibits a religious institution from promoting disharmony, feelings of enmity, hatred, or ill-will between different religious communities. Offenses under the religious institutions act are cognizable, meaning police can make an arrest without a warrant, and non-bailable as per Section 7 of the Act. It is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 10,000 rupees (US$140). “This case is not only the longest custody case in the year 2019, where the Christians have remained in jail for more than two months, but also a case where they have been strategically booked for ‘misuse of religious institutions for political and other purposes,’” Christian rights activist Dinanath Jaiswar told Morning Star News. “A lot of homework has been done before putting this section on the Christians.”

Christian leaders in Uttar Pradesh reacted strongly to the use of the Religious Institutions (Prevention of Misuse) Act. “We had no clue as to what the Religious Institutions (Prevention of Misuse) Act meant,” Pastor Prakash told Morning Star News. “The police officials did not bother to explain or tell us what they have booked us under.” A lower court initially rejected their application for bail. Morning Star News efforts to reach their attorney were unsuccessful. According to the terms of the bail granted by the higher court, the three Christians must present themselves in court nearly every two weeks or whenever the court demands, Pastor Raj Kumar said.

“The three presented themselves before the Court on Feb. 6 and then on Feb. 20,” he said. “It is a very tedious procedure, and we do not know how many years it will take for them to prove their innocence.” Since his arrest, Ram’s license to run a government ration store in his village has been canceled, Jaiswar said. “It is heart-breaking that the only source of income of Kapil’s family has been snatched away from him,” Jaiswar told Morning Star News. “It was his livelihood.”

HINDU PRESSURE

As part of their regular visits to church members’ homes, pastors Kumar and Prakash had gone to Ram’s house on Nov. 26, where about 10 to 12 people were gathered for worship, when it was disrupted by members of the Hindu extremist Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV). The HYV is a Hindu youth militia founded in 2002 by Yogi Adityanath, now the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. At about 11:45 a.m., seven or eight Hindu extremists charged into the house and began to video record them on their mobile phones, Pastor Kumar said. The intruders harshly questioned the women, asking what they had received for becoming Christians, he said: “Are you given money for medical treatment? Are you promised free rations? What do they give you to make you follow their faith?”

“When they began to shout at us, Kapil asked them to leave his house, objecting to the hostility they created inside his house,” Pastor Kumar said. When pastors Kumar and Prakash left Ram’s house, they found a large crowd waiting outside. Ram’s family spoke with the Hindu extremists for more than 20 minutes, and twice when the pastors tried to leave, the extremists snatched their motorbike keys from them. “They blamed us for carrying out forced conversion and threatened to kill us and smash our faces,” Pastor Prakash said.

The extremists continued to record videos as they tried to make the pastors confess to forcible conversion. “They argued with the members of Kapil’s family, trying to lead them into acknowledging that they have received some kind of monetary help or any other benefit to convert to Christianity,” Pastor Prakash told Morning Star News. The Hindu extremists called police, who arrived and detained the two pastors and the homeowner. Pastor Kumar said he was shocked that police allowed the extremists to shoot video of officers interrogating the Christians.

Officers took them to Ranipur police station. “When we were still sitting in the police station, some police personnel were sent to the village to investigate about the case, who returned to report that there was no conversion taking place,” Pastor Prakash said. “A police officer made his report and booked us under a single section of the law. He was about to set us free to go home around 9 in the night when a crowd that belonged to various Hindu organizations entered the police station. They began to pressure the officer, demanding that strict action should be taken against us.” After spending the night in custody and appearing before the judge, the next afternoon Pastor Prakash asked the station officer when he would let them go. “He responded that he is going to put us in jail,” Pastor Prakash said. “He said, ‘We are tired of what is going on in the state – the whole state is upside-down because of this conversion matter.’” India is ranked 10th on Christian support organization Open Doors’ 2020 World Watch List of the countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian. The country was 31st in 2013, but its position has worsened since Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in 2014.

U.S., 17 Other Countries Launch First-Ever International Religious Freedom Alliance

In one of the first international efforts to champion religious freedom, leaders from the United States and several other countries will gather in Washington D.C. this week for the first meeting of the new International Religious Freedom Alliance. The alliance falls under the leadership of U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback, as reported by The Christian Post“I have not seen this type of organization or push on a human rights that I am aware of before,” said Brownback. “This is the first effort really to get a group of nations that will be the activist on a particular human right to try to champion and pursue that cause more aggressively.

“We will be looking at things we can work collectively on and [how] we can push for religious freedom efforts around the world. We are excited about the countries and their enthusiasm.” So far, 17 countries have confirmed their membership to the alliance, though Brownback hopes that number rises. The names of the countries have yet to be disclosed.

Requirements for membership are high, according to Brownback. The alliance welcomes countries who have shown a strong commitment to religious freedom in their history. “The United States pushes [religious freedom] but we need other allies to push it too,” Brownback said. “The fortunate thing is that it isn’t going to be just us. It is going to be a group of nations to push on this.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo first announced the alliance at the second annual Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, according to World. Trump continued to advertise the group at the United Nations General Assembly in September, despite the previous circulation of rumors that Trump was considering cutting the total number of refugees, including persecuted Christians, allowed into the U.S. to nearly zero, Politico reports.

As part of the initiative, Brownback traveled to Rome earlier this year to meet with the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative, which is a coalition of Muslim, Jewish and Christian leaders. “One of the key statements that came out is that this group is committed to resolutely declare that religions must never incite war, hateful attitudes, hostility and extremism,” Brownback said.  “Unfortunately, much of the world looks at religion as the cause of wars. This group and the people they are working with see religion as an instrument of peace. They want to make it that way.”
